Javaid Akhtar is an Indian scriptwriter, lyricist and poet. 

Javaid Akhtar Early life and Education:

He had born in Gwalior on January 17, 1945. His father was an Indian poet and film songwriter while his mother was a writer, teacher and singer. He received his early education in Lucknow. Later, he enrolled in Safiya College in Bhopal and did graduation. 


In 1964 when he went to Bombay, he began to write dialogues for films for his livelihood. In the 1970s, there was no concept that the same writer can write all, the screenplay, dialogue and story. However, Rajesh Khanna took a step and gave an opportunity to Salim Khan and Javaid Akhtar to work as screenplay writer in Hathi Mery Sathi. In 24 films, they both worked with each other. Out of 24, 20 films were hit.

Personal Life:

Firstlt, he married to Honey Irani. Allah blessed them with two children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. Later their relationship ended on divorced. And he remarried to Shabana Azmi. 

Awards and Achievement:

Javaid Akhtar also has received many awards. However, he has awarded with 5 National film Awards for best Lyrics. Furthermore, he received 13 Filmfare Awards. Also, he won the lifetime achievement award in 2014. In 1999, he has given a Padma Shri award and in 2007, he received Padma Bhushan award.
